S'more Camp Sabra

On July 31st, Corey Fox realized his dream of becoming a Bar Mitzvah at Camp Sabra.  With his entire family in attendance, Corey led the Camp Sabra community in worship on Friday night.  Corey began practicing months ago with his Cantor at United Hebrew Congregation in St. Louis and continued to work with the Judaica staff at Camp Sabra.  It was a memorable night as the Camp Sabra campers and staff welcomed the opportunity to share in this joyous occasion.  Pictured above is Corey preparing to read his Torah portion after his parents, Allen and Robin Fox, read the Aliyah.  Corey’s younger sister and brother, Samantha (Ayelet) and Quinn (Golan), are watching from the Bimah.

After spending the day in Telluride, CO 2nd Session Masada has begun their accent of Anchor Mountain.  Tomorrow afternoon we hope to hear that the entire group made it to the peak- elevation 12,325.  Thus far the group has visited Boulder, CO, hiked in Rocky Mountain National Park, climbed in Camp Hale, hiked in Glenwood Springs, soaked in hot springs outside of Ouray, CO and visited Telluride.

We wish the group a safe journey and can’t wait to see their pictures!!!
